My love for denim started when I was 15 years old. My reward of getting into the best girls high school was a pair of Lee Jeans. It was a boot-cut style with an original blue wash. Since then, denim has had a forever place in my closet.
The slightly flared leg boot-cut jeans has been in my life since the day I got my first pair of denim. It was also my cool-mom statement outfit. They are so easy to pair with simple tees, plaid shirts or a flowery flowy top. In PTA meetings, I wore them with a pair of flats. On field trips, they are good with a pair of tennis shoes. Those days are long gone, but the bootcut jeans still come back from time to time while reminiscing .
The timeless straight leg style has been my favorite. They are my rule of thumb go-to denim. Pair the straight jeans with a fitted top and booties or a classic flats! The very trendy destroyed style has elevated the straight jeans to another level. The relaxed atmosphere is an understatement. I can’t go on my vacation without bringing a pair.
The skinny style is a total game changing design. The skinny jean is divine. They look brilliant with almost any type of shoes. In cold weather, I will tuck the skinny jeans into long boots or short cute booties. The glory of skinny jeans do not end here. With the right color, they can be casual at day and cocktail at night. I have the skinny jeans in crop length, ankle length, tapered and full length. It is playful to change from one style to another.
The skinny jeans are still top of the game. Pair them with a thigh length tunic to shape full hips or any loose top to offset the slimness of the design. The skinny jeans can go with any shoe style. A pair of booties or long boots will pair great with the cold weather.
Denim is marvelous. There is no right or wrong regarding the style as long as the denim brings out the best of your body and spirits.
